Artist Statement
Sara Fox (b.1991) lives and works in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Graduated from Leeds Art University in 2015 with a First-class BA in Fine Art.
Sara Fox is a multidisciplinary artist interested in people and places who expresses her interpretation of the world through her practice. Tension is rooted deeply in her subconscious and has emerged as a critical theme in the subjects she chooses to work with. Her work reflects her ever-changing circumstances and is her way of trying to unpick them. Everything leads to the realisation that it is dialectical relationships that drive her practice: man-made vs. natural, new vs. old, modern techniques vs. traditions, health vs. illness, Belfast vs. itself.
Having lived in Leeds and London, she is drawn back to Belfast to become part of its ever-changing and exciting artist community. Wanting to explore how art can help create a united culture in a country so divided by history.
